Hi! My name Lindsay, most people call me Linds or Lindz, however you want to spell it. I'm a small town girl from Willow River, MN who turned Corporate, then turned Cosmetologist.
I am a firm believer that looking good is a secret to feeling good. And I am passionate about making people feel confident & beautiful in their own skin.
I'm also a firm believer that coffee and sparkling water are some of the greatest inventions to ever exist. Seriously, I consume my body weight in both of these almost daily, they are what keep me running. My family is a close second motivator behind that, though.
Before finding my true calling of becoming a hair stylist, I worked in the corporate world. I blame that for starting the coffee addiction. After what I call a "Pre Mid-Life, Life Crisis" at the ripe age of 20, I decided the corporate life wasn't for me.
So here I am! I currently attend the Aveda Institute of Minneapolis & will graduate at the end of August. Hair is truly my passion and I can not wait to begin my career of making people feel AND look good.

Why I'm here
After a few years of chasing the corporate ladder, I found myself burnt out & unfufilled.
As a people pleaser with an unbeatable work ethic, I quickly excelled in my career. I met deadlines, communicated between high level executives, and managed my time efficently. I was always looking for a new challenge and took on more than was expected. A corporate dream right? Not exactly.
When the world stopped turning last March & I was forced to work from home, I realized truly how unfufilling my job was for me. I knew I needed a change, but I had no idea what that looked like.
Fast forward a few months, a dear friend asked if I would do her hair for her wedding. For a few years I've done special event updos, just because I thought it was fun. Without hesistation I agreed. Not expecting to get paid, she gave me a generous, unnecessary, tip. Thats when the lightbulb in my head went off.
I can get paid to do something that I enjoy AND make people feel beautiful in the process? Sign me up!
That very next week I made an appointment to tour the Aveda Institute Minneapolis location. Almost instantly, I knew this was where I needed to be. Within the next two weeks I had applied, been accepted & enrolled in the Cosmetology Program. The following week I put in my notice at my corporate job and haven't looked back.
