About me

Hello, my name is

Lylah Fardello and I am 19 years old. I have three incredible siblings, who have played an important role in shaping who I am today. I am hard of hearing and was diagnosed with neurosensorial hearing loss at the age of 11. Alongside this, I have experienced anxiety since I was eight years old, which has taught me resilience, self-awareness, and empathy from a young age.

When I was ten, my parents made the decision to move our family away from the busy town where I grew up and into the countryside. We relocated to a farm, where I spent much of my time learning to care for animals, appreciate nature, and find peace in a quieter environment. That experience deeply influenced my outlook on life and helped ground me during difficult periods.

In my free time, I enjoy writing as a creative outlet and form of self-expression. I have also been part of a bowling league for nine years, a commitment that reflects my dedication and love for the sport. I still regularly go bowling with friends I’ve made both in college and outside of school.

I graduated high school early in January 2025 after transitioning to online education, driven by my desire to begin college as soon as possible. This decision allowed me to take control of my education and move forward toward my goals with determination and purpose.

Why I'm here

I am here to help the beauty industry grow—not just creatively, but emotionally. I want to continue evolving as a person while helping others find the beauty within themselves. For a long time, I struggled with low self-esteem, especially throughout middle school, and I often felt disconnected from the way I looked.

Hair became my form of self-expression. I began changing it as a way to take control of my appearance, and I quickly fell in love with color. I would spend hours watching videos about vivid hair transformations, and over time, my interests expanded into sci-fi makeup and bold, artistic looks. Whenever I had free time, I found myself watching tutorials on extreme haircuts, vibrant colors, and creative makeup styles—and I was completely inspired.

That inspiration eventually led me to the realization that I wanted to become a cosmetologist. I began researching professional haircare lines, learning how products work and how to properly care for hair, starting with my own.

As someone who struggles with hair loss, this knowledge became essential. I learned quickly that without the right products and techniques, I could risk damaging my hair beyond repair. Through dedication and education, I found ways to protect and strengthen my hair. Despite frequent bleaching and coloring, I now maintain healthy, manageable, vibrant hair—a result of both passion and careful practice.

This journey is what drives me: helping others feel confident, seen, and empowered through beauty.
