Feel confident in your own skin

Hi there! I'm Mackenzie Haslam. I am 22 years old and living my best life in Logan Utah. I am newly married to the most amazing man in the entire world. We are both in school and working hard for our dreams. My husband, Miles, studies physical therapy at USU while I get to have so much fun at Paul Mitchell the School-Logan studying Master Esthetics. I have always had a passion for this industry and I'm so excited I get to make a career out of something I love.
What started out as young me, playing in my moms makeup and sitting still as she played with my hair, has grown into a deep love and passion for the beauty industry. I grew up always playing hair and makeup with my sisters and friends. I would sit and watch makeup and hair videos on YouTube for hours and would practice my skills on myself and friends. In high school, I struggled with acne that made me embarrassed and made me feel self conscious about myself. This is when I discovered my love for skin care. I would scour the internet for at home concoctions, skin care brands, and how to's. My dream of becoming an esthetician and helping others feel confident in their skin was born during this time. However, after I graduated from high school and went on with my life for a little bit, I felt pressure to get a formal college education. I moved to Logan Utah to attend USU where I was planning on studying Biology and becoming a Zookeeper. One semester in though, this path didn't feel right. I layed in bed one night unhappy with my life path when all of the sudden I remembered in high school when I discovered my love for skin care. A spark lit up inside me and I was excited about this idea. I immediately searched the internet and researched how to become an esthetician and that's when I came across Paul Mitchell the School which just so happened to be just down the street from where I was. I don't believe this was a coincidence. I was where I was for a reason. I know I am on the right path for me now. Even though USU wasn't for me, I still needed to be in Logan to meet my husband and to attend the beauty school that would best set me up for success in a career field I love. I love being an Esthetician!
