My name is Maddie Laxton, im 18 years old. I am applying for an associate position. I am a licensed stylist but feel i need more experince behind the chair before I start taking clients on my own. I took a 2 year program through my highschool in Powhatan County. I have always been passionate about hair and make up and helping others feel beautiful. I have a strong intrest in extentions but do not have any training within that interest at this point. I am hoping by joining a growing salon that this will help me reach my goal of placing, coloring, and cutting extentions. After highschool I have been helping a few friends and family acheive thier hair goals but I am ready to dive deeper and start my career. I have been in the search for a stylist job that i feel would be the right fit for my life and help me gain the experince that I feel i still need.

Why I'm here
I am ready to start my next chapter in life after graduating highschool. However, I do not feel that the highschool gave me the approtiate tools needed to be servicing the public on my own at this time. I am hopful that by joining your salon that I can gain not only experince but confidence within my work! That is why I am choosing to apply for an assoiate postion over a stylist. Although I am lincsened, I still feel that I need a little more knowledge about color and how it all works.
