Martine Mondragon

I'm a passionate hairstylist, scalp care specialist and SalonCentric Essentials Hedspa Educator, dedicated to holistic hair solutions, and helping guide other licensed professionals in their pursuit of Headspa ans Scalp Care knowledge. 

With 14 years of expertise in Headspa & Scalp Care, hand-painted balayage, custom cuts, and full coverage color, I approach my craft as an art form that celebrates individual beauty and enhances overall wellness.

I started my journey in cosmetology school at the Gary Manuel Aveda Institute in late 2010, and graduated in April of 2012. During that time, I was highly driven and motivated to become an editorial stylist. I was accepted to the Editorial Team, where I served as Secretary and helped coordinate outside opportunities for us to participate in fashion shows, photoshoots, charity events, and more.

After cosmetology school, I focused primarily on servicing clients behind the chair as a full-time stylist while also freelancing in editorial work in Seattle, WA. After 4 years of editorial work, I shifted to solely servicing clients, specializing in hand-painted balayage and haircutting, but I always had a knack for providing top-notch scalp massages as well. It was a small part of what I was doing, but I quickly built a solid clientele based on my techniques, as well as my approach to educating clients in caring for their hair.

This is where my passion slowly started to shift to something I felt was more substantial than the usual hair services I was already providing. I knew I wanted to be an educator, but teaching hair coloring or cutting techniques hadn't really resonated with me. Once I became aware of the art of Headspa in 2021, I knew I had found my calling in the industry. Not only did I want to provide my clients with these therapeutic treatments that went beyond aesthetics, I wanted to share that knowledge with everybody who didn't know about it yet. 

I spent nearly two years researching scalp care and headspa services. To be honest, I felt quite lost in what I was finding online, but I eventually gained confidence in my knowledge, found a certification class that resonated with me, and in 2024 I became a Scalp Care Specialist, offering Headspa & Scalp Treatment services. 

In 2025, SalonCentric welcomed me to the Education team as the Essentials Headspa Educator, a role I love and want to expand on even more. Showing other professionals what Headspa is, how to apply that knowledge into a comprehensive service and building confidence in cultivating their own businesses has been extremely rewarding. I seek to continuously learn every day, and to share that knowledge as it grows.
