About me
Mary Thomas McCutchen is a professional makeup artist and hair stylist based in Charlotte North Carolina. Her passion for makeup artistry began through her love of film, television, and all things pop culture. Growing up on a farm in rural South Carolina she looked to these outlets for inspiration and a glimpse into the more glamorous. She began writing in her free time and visualizing every detail about her characters. YouTube tutorials were her first introduction to makeup design and technique.
Her love for creating and storytelling led her to earning a Bachelor of arts degree from Clemson University, she uses the things that she learned at her time in Clemson to help her makeup tell a full story. It was at Clemson that she began freelancing on weekends for sorority functions, formals, and special events.
Mary Thomas attended the Makeup Designory (MUD), completing the multimedia makeup artistry program. During this intensive training she designed makeup for a series of beauty, fashion, and SFX photo-shoots and designed a range of original characters.
