I'm a triple threat--personality, energy, and talent.
My beauty journey started in 2006 with a makeup brush, magazines and MTV for inspiration, and juggling work with school and whatever theatrical production I was involved in.
I graduated from Augusta University in 2012 with a Bachelors in Communication Studies and a minor in Theater--but the beauty industry beckoned me and I was drawn like a moth to the flame.
I spent six incredible years with Sephora, where I experienced education management duties, facilitated client workshops, and eventually auditioned for and earned the role of Senior Makeup Artist. I found so much joy in facilitation but I'd reached my ceiling with Sephora and it was time to pivot.
I went to cosmetology school in 2019 and earned my hours as the pandemic descended upon the world. I never imagined falling in love with hair, but I was excited to experience stylist life. I began my career assisting established stylists until I earned my license and got a chair of my own.
When I discovered the Redken Artist path, something clicked; I realized this was my way back to the part of myself that LOVES empowering others through sharing what I know.
I find inspiration in everything--chalk it up to my romantic, optimistic personality type. Because I live in a small town I find most of my artistic inspiration from social media, but I also keep up with WWD Beauty INC, sift through my growing collection of 2000s-2010s womens' beauty magazines, and I'm still a huge fan of Pinterest for consolidating my favorite ideas.
What do I think is next? Out with the "clean girl aesthetic" that is anything BUT effortless, and in with more effortless looking hair that has movement and embraces your natural texture. The vibe is circa 2009-- equal parts Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen , Lily Allen, Sky Ferriera, Alexa Chung. May "Indie Sleaze" make its way back, but with a conscious attention to scalp health.
In the first five years of my career, I dedicated my time and effort to learning the rules of hair like a pro. Now I'm ready to learn to break the rules like an artist.

First of all, I'm here to make you smile and brighten your day.
Secondly, I'm here because of one humbling moment in my first 6 months behind the chair, when my salon owner pulled me aside to discuss a color mistake I'd made and she told me plainly, "We are not a teaching salon." She suggested I figure out how to get more education quickly.
(Spoiler alert: I did leave that salon and eventually found much more supportive salon environments. I also found Redken.)
I became a Redken Artisit so I could reach as many stylists as possible and help them feel more empowered to make creative yet informed decisions behind the chair. Empowering my fellow stylists FUELS me to show up for every class with a bright, beaming attitude.
I'm ready to learn new tactics for elevating my facilitation game. I'm ready to create hair color education experiences that stick, build skill mastery, and change the way stylists think about hair AND themselves. I'm a BIG FAN of visual aids, and I use them frequently to help convey my message. I'm beginning to develop my own style for coloring hair, but I believe the Redken Artist Mentorship Program will help me develop a more discerning eye and a well-defined point of view.
