Hi, I’m Mia, a 35-year-old barber student at Paul Mitchell East Bay, living in the Bay Area. I spent about 10 years working as a bartender, and in a lot of ways, barbering feels like a natural transition for me—it’s still hands-on, people-centered work, just in a new form.

I really love cutting hair. For me, it’s meditative and a great way to move and clear stagnant energy while helping someone else feel fresh and confident. There’s something powerful about that exchange.

I’ve always had a deep respect for the trades and a strong working-class ethic, and I’m excited to keep growing my skills and building a career in barbering!
