I'm Mikayla Bailey, a client-focused emerging cosmetologist with two years of hands-on salon experience and a passion for luxury hair care. Currently an Apprentice Stylist at Scott J Salons, an Aveda Lifestyle Salon in New York City, I specialize in delivering a calm, elevated guest experience from the shampoo bowl to the styling chair. My skill set spans cutting, blowouts, silk press, single-process color, highlights, air-touch, and color formulation — with a growing extension specialization actively in development. Trained at Arrojo Academy and certified through Wella, Barbicide, and industry educators including Lana Kurayeva and Asil Simsek, I bring a detail-driven, coachable approach to every service and a genuine commitment to refined guest care.
My biggest inspiration has been a family friend, who is a celebrity stylist. Getting my hair done as a child and watching her career grow has been love at first sight moments for me. The mix of fashion, travel, beauty and therapy make it all worthwhile.
I am focusing my career on extensions, sew-in weaves and hair loss solutions because I love to be the creator of transformations in women and men.
I specialize in blowouts for all textures, color silk presses, and precision & razor cutting. I have taken several paid courses to enhance these basic skills and I continue to take additional continuing education courses. I have had training carious cutting methods, color with air touch niche, and sew-in extensions. I have taken a textured blow out class and I am due to also take a two day blowout mastery.

I'm driven to work within environments that prioritize continuous learning and excellence, and I'm excited to grow my clientele while continuing to refine my craft in cutting, color, and extensions.
