Nancy Chavez-castro

Hello, my name is Nancy. I am a cosmetology student attending the Aveda Institute of Chapel Hill, I will be graduating October 2020. I joined the beauty world because I wanted to be able to give people confidence and boost their self esteem, because everyone deserves to feel good, feel beautiful, feel like the best version of themselves. What inspired me to join was my family being supportive of me in whatever I set my mind to, I strive to succeed and be the best person that I can be because I want to make them proud of what I can become. My interest in hair and makeup started when I was little, I remember I had gotten a toy hair styling kit, you know the plastic kind with scissors, a blow dryer, a cosmetic belt etc. And even though, it wasn’t a real kit I would pretend to cut and style my cousins hair into something as beautiful as the actresses we’ve seen on TV. What pushed me more was Instagram, I would see so many videos of other stylists that would do amazing color applications, balayage, hair styles etc. and from then on i was inspired to go to beauty school and accomplish my dreams of becoming a hair stylist.
