Northern Institute of Cosmetology

Northern Institute of Cosmetology, located in downtown Lorain, Ohio, is one of the longest-established and most affordable cosmetology schools in the state. Founded in 1949, we have spent over 69 years training students to become skilled, confident professional cosmetologists. Our 9,000 square-foot facility features specialized classrooms and a client training area. We are nationally accredited by the National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences and licensed by the Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board. In addition to our cosmetology program, we now proudly offer a Barber Program with both 1,800-hour and 1,000-hour options. Classes begin every Monday, with day and evening schedules available to fit your lifestyle.
