Nyah Walker

Hi! My name is Nyah Walker and I am from Mount Holly, New Jersey.  My passion for hair started when I was about 10 years old.  I have very curly hair and my mom’s favorite style was pigtails to calm my crazy curls.  Don’t get me wrong, I love a good pigtail but it was EVERY day.  So I started doing my own hair.  Slowly I figured out what to do with my hair - How to wash it, which products to use, how to style it.  Now I embrace my curls and natural hair is a passion if mine. I even have a book filled with recipes for my homemade hair products; everything from hair masks and conditioning treatments to shampoos and lotions.  This love for hair grew as my sisters all wanted their hair done too. Then strangers started stopping me in the street, at the mall, the movies, all over, asking me where I went to get my hair done and were always amazed when I said I had done it myself.  This was the beginning of my journey to cosmetology school. Having attended Paul Mitchell The School at the Jersey Shore I now feel ready to begin my career as a cosmetologist.  I am so excited to see where this adventure will take me.
