My name is Prosper, and I am a student barber and hairstylist at HairLab Detroit, entering this industry with purpose, humility, and a deep respect for the craft. I believe grooming is far more than a technical service it is a healing ritual rooted in care, presence, and intention. When a client sits in my chair, they are stepping into a space created for restoration and transformation.

I’m guided by the belief that “attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity.” I’ve learned that when we groom ourselves, the level of care, detail, and attentiveness we put into our own appearance is an act of self-respect. My goal is to pass that same standard of care on to every person who sits in my chair. Through focused attention, intentional touch, and a grounded environment, I aim to create experiences where clients can breathe, release, and feel lighter than when they arrived.

My vision is to build a sanctuary within the grooming experience a place where men feel seen, valued, and restored. The changes I want to create aren’t just physical; they’re emotional. I want clients to leave with clarity, confidence, and a renewed connection to themselves.

As I begin my journey in the beauty and grooming industry, I am driven by a deep hunger to learn from the artists and masters who came before me. Their discipline, creativity, and devotion to excellence inspire me to refine my technique, expand my artistry, and approach my growth with humility and intention. I am committed to honoring their legacy while carving my own path forward.

I aspire to become a professional who elevates grooming into a mindful, healing practice blending technical precision with emotional intelligence, tradition with modern vision, and craftsmanship with purpose. Being selected for Beacon would give me the mentorship, education, and community to strengthen this mission and continue becoming the artist and leader I know I’m meant to be.
