About me
Hi ! I'm Rae! I'm Mexican-American and I was born and raised in Arizona! cosmetology has been a big passion for me for a very long time. I was surrounded by people who had a love for beauty growing up and was encouraged to freely express myself. my main interest growing up was makeup and it slowly but surely turned into a huge passion for hair! as somebody who dresses different than most, my mission in this industry is to create a safe space and to encourage people to freely express themselves!

I love cosmetology, it's the only career path that ever made sense to me. I've had many ideas of who I wanted to be. a writer, a psychologist, a teacher; but it never felt me. after I finished high-school and the time came to start deciding what I wanted to do in terms of going to college and pursuing my future career. none of those titles i named sounded quite right, but after some thinking I realized what I wanted to do was to be a hairstylist. I thought about it for days, weeks, months until I looked at schools with my family and finally applied to Studio academy of beauty in Phoenix, Arizona! it was one the best decisions I've made and I'm so glad I did it!
