Rasheedah Watson

Hello, 

My name is Rasheedah Watson and I have been in the hair industry for over 20 years. I’m a twin and, the eldest girl of 12 children. I grew up in an unstable environment. Being the oldest girl I was always held accountable for everybody so made me feel responsible. I was tending to my siblings before I could tend to myself. I loved them before I learned to love me. I grew up a humanitarian and empathetic to others. I'm selfless by nature I wasn't even born alone.

I was introduced to the hair salon around 9 and by 12 it was capable of making money. I realized my hands were mechanically inclined. I used my quality to be an asset because I never wanted to be a liability, so I did hair. My mantra has been Nothing comes to a closed fist you get what you give. I try my best give over 100% everything I do. I survived off hair but I was forced to approach it as a hustle which meant I couldn’t evolve. My grandmother said to me one day "self-preservation is the first law of nature." I guess being self-taught made me unconsciously unteachable because today I understand.

Every thing in Life comes with instructions and if you miss a step it will never be completed properly. I miss the first step so, I’m now a future professional of Paul Mitchell School of Charlotte. Although this is my second time attending and, my third time enrolling in a program. My purpose is different, Before I can pour into ppl I have to pour into myself. I told myself I would reciprocate into hair what it has given me and, the possibilities are now endless. I was gifted this talent so and for years I been developing my skill which help me school help develop my passion to live out my dream.

The more I learn the more I want to know, the more I know the better I want to become, thebetter I become is how good I can be , and how good I can determines how great I will be.
