Be a Unicorn in a world of gray
Be a Unicorn in a world of gray

I am an artist. I see the world in color, instead of gray. I love to challenge myself, learn and create art. I put so much of myself into this career I love! Give me all the knowledge and I know there's still more.
I am an introvert in an extrovert enviroment. I feel a lot of us are.
I got a late start into this specific art form at the age of 34. When I had my daughter I didn't even know how to french-braid! I learned watching videos. Eventually getting up to an eleven strand braid. So, cosmotology school is where I went.
When I was 18 I went to art school and majored in painting and photography. Loved it. Now each day I get to paint on a different canvas. Meet different people. Everyday I get a new challenge and it makes me excited.
I want that color correction. The vivid colors. I love those curls! I'll continue to challenge myself. Trying new ways to solve the puzzles in front of me.
To stay humble and know that we all have limits. I know when Betty down the road can do a certain color or cut that I would not hit out of the park like they would. I know that this career is not and should never be about competition or ego, it's about community.
As artists I know we all have a little bit of that in us. If we didn't, I would not want to grow. I want to continue to push myself. I have the passion, the drive, the desire for more.
To get to know me is to know I want to share what I've learned. To let others know it's never to late to start. Sometimes we just need someone or something to give us a little nudge.

I'm here because I want to educate. To share what I have in me. All the passion and education I have built up. The excitement that I have, I want others to feel that.
I want other stylists to learn not to doubt themselves. There Is so much we are capable of!
Trust the color wheel! Push past those insecurities. Keep climbing and don't stop.
Let me show you that it's ok to mess up. We actually should. Without those mess ups, we don't grow. Without learning how to communicate with clients we put ourselves in hard positions. However we learn where we go wrong.
I want to try all the new things and teach it to the person next me. Let them teach me something new as well. There will always be something we take from someone else.
I am so hungry to teach my love of color! All of the little tricks that will help us and our clients get the color we all want. The science behind it, and the why.
I want to open eyes and our imaginations again to that little unicorn that's still in all of us. Soak it up and hold on.
