About me
My name is Sarah and I'm a cosmetology student at Douglas J in East Lansing, MI. I'm 26 years old, and live with my partner, two cats, and husky. In my free time I like to crochet, play video games, and listen to Kpop.
After finishing school, I hope to specialize in alternative and gender affirming styles, and create a safe space in my chair and salon for marginalized communities. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a community to surround and uplift them, and I hope to be exactly that. I may not be able to change everything, but I can make sure my clients leave my chair feeling seen, heard, confident, and, most importantly, feeling true to themselves.

Why I'm here
At 25 years old, I felt lost. I was living day to day with no goals, no plans, and no idea what was coming next. I had to sit down and figure out what I was truly passionate about and what I wanted for myself. In doing so, I realized that my true passion was making others happy. I also always knew I wanted to do something creative in my career, and cosmetology was the perfect intersect between the two. I could be myself, be creative, and make people feel great all at the same time. Less than a week later, I enrolled at Douglas J, and I've never looked back.
