About Me
My name is Savanna. I am a 25 year old cosmetology student studying at Aveda Institute of Twin Falls in Idaho. I am currently at 1100 hours and am projected to graduate in February of 2024. I am a single mom of a 4 year old little boy and a dedicated server at a little cafe here in our community. I have consistently been involved in community events to give back to the community such as fundraisers that provide children with Christmas gifts, and food drives for less fortunate families. I am dedicated to bringing my “A-game” to all areas of my life. I strive to provide stellar results to my clients at school, and to deliver incredible service as a waitress. Most importantly, I strive to instill love and confidence into my little family.
Having embarked on a transformative journey as a cosmetology student at the Aveda Institute in Twin Falls, I am driven by an unwavering passion for the art of beauty and a relentless commitment to personal and professional growth. I have taken extra courses through Pretty In a Minute to help me further my education as a stylist and have plans to apprentice at a prospective salon before graduation as well. I am not merely seeking a career; I am dedicated to honing my craft to the highest standard and working with the best in the industry.
Like most, writing about myself is no easy feat. A wise man suggested that I ask people in my life what makes me stand out as a stylist and write about that. To my surprise, most of everyone I asked had similar things to say: “gregarious,” “easy to get along with, “sociable,” “optimistic” and “inclusive with others.” Hearing these things instilled a sense of gratification as I am a firm believer that “everybody needs somebody” and I love being that ‘somebody’ that people can talk to and feel comfortable with.What fuels my passion for cosmetology is not only the technical expertise required, but also the profound impact it has on people's lives. I am motivated by the opportunity to make others feel confident and beautiful. This drive propels me to strive for excellence, to constantly evolve, and to approach each client and challenge with creativity, precision, and dedication. Serving members of my community is a huge passion of mine as I have been a waitress for eight years and plan to serve those in a new way as a cosmetologist

Why I Am Here
Two years after high school, I became pregnant with my first child. Like most, I wanted my son to have better than I did and I wanted him to have better than what I was currently capable of giving him. I began working on myself, finding the things that made me happy, and seriously considering my future for the first time in my life. Although I was always interested in a career in cosmetology, dental hygiene seemed like a safer option at the time. I began prerequisites at a local community college and unfortunately, never seemed to fit in. I spent 2 years thinking of cosmetology and another 6 months weighing the pros and cons of the trade. After a small bout of spontaneity, I reached out to the admissions director at the Aveda Institute of Twin Falls, Idaho, and two weeks later, I was enrolled into cosmetology school. I came into school on my first day and immediately felt at home. I have never met so many wonderful people in my life and best of all, I found the spark in myself that I had been missing all this time. Since starting cosmetology school, I’ve realized that It goes beyond the surface; it's an art form that has the ability to enhance confidence, express individuality, and create a sense of beauty that is both personal and powerful. Recognizing this profound impact, I have dedicated myself to pursuing this career. I’m passionate about everything I learn and do and I’m confident in my ability to be better every day. Furthering my education is a part of my short and long term goals and I’m always striving to be better than I was the previous day. Beacon’s commitment to excellence, innovative curriculum, and emphasis on practical skills resonates with my vision of becoming not just a hairstylist, but a master of the craft.
What sets me on this journey is not just a desire to learn about hair, but an insatiable hunger to learn the very best. I am excited about the prospect of immersing myself in an environment where I can absorb knowledge from experienced professionals, refine my skills with the latest techniques, and foster a deep understanding of the art and science of cosmetology. I am drawn to the idea of being part of a community that values creativity, precision, and a commitment to continuous learning. Your program's reputation for producing skilled and passionate cosmetologists further solidifies my belief that this is the ideal place for me to cultivate my talents and thrive in the industry.
I want to show my son that anything is possible with a little perseverance and dedication. I have previous experience in retail, and customer service and am thankful for the opportunity to apply those skills to my new found career. I aspire to learn the absolute most and unleash my full potential in this field. Giving people the confidence to be the best version of themselves is something I strive for daily. I feel incredibly blessed that this is the life I have chosen to raise my son in as we both continue to thrive and get better all the time. I will be a positive asset to my community as a cosmetologist.
