“Every window in Alcatraz has a view of San Francisco”- Susanna Kaysen, Girl, Interrupted

Background: I was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and raised in between Tampa, Florida and France. I come from a very diverse family that blessed me with an open mind and a great sense of humor. I have studied the arts as early as i can remember, my outlook and creativity in hair is strongly rooted in my love for art itself.
Me!
Self care is a must for me, i love to wake up early and make myself feel beautiful. Makeup, hair and fashion choices are top on the list of priorities in the morning. I am a huge music nerd, music history and finding new songs to play is my favorite hobby. I have been blessed with the "gift of gab" I've been told, laughing and talking to friends is my daily gift. My outlook on life reflects the mantra listed above, i feel very strongly that my mindset reflects. In the hardest moments in life, there is always a window.

Early into my cosmetology program we were tasked with a similar question and told to make a speech. I told my class a story about myself, (i'll keep it brief). In 6th grade i was the first girl in my school to come out. Following this event i was the first girl to cut all of my hair off, i remember the butterflies in my stomach and begging my mom to let me. When she finally caved, i left that salon with a confidence i'd never felt before. I felt like myself, i felt cool for once. That one haircut inspired me to be different. I embraced the "weird" from that point on, i hope to do the same for those like me. Younger or those who came before me, to leave my chair with that same confidence i gained.
