Shanakay Gillespie

Current Cosmetology Student with a background in Psychological and Brain Sciences. My passion for Cosmetology started budding at the tender age of 14 where I began experimenting with hair and makeup. It wasn't until my freshman year of college that I started taking my craft more seriously after encouragement from my peers who admired my work. I started a social media outlet where I began broadcasting my work. I spent my college years investing in my passion; I would practice after hours of studying and classes. 

With studying Psychology, I realized the thing I loved the most about Cosmetology was making people feel like their best self, looking and feeling beautiful . After graduating cum laude with my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychological and Brain Sciences, I decided it was my calling to merge my knowledge of Psychology with Cosmetology. I now attend Aveda Institute where I am pursuing my dream and making it a reality.
