As a little girl I knew I wanted to do hair. There was something about the energy of a hair salon even then. I loved the experience aside from sitting under the dryer. 😂 I would always get compliments on my hair and skin. I felt bad that people would think less of themselves because their hair wasn’t as long or their skin wasn’t as clear. I knew I wanted to do something to help them feel as good about their appearance as they did mine. As years passed I gave up on my dream to do things more in alignment with how I was raised. I was always praised for my intelligence and told I should pursue a masters degree in something. I started looking into cosmetology school but ultimately put it off due to my work schedule. In 2017 I got sick, went on disability and was released from my job. I realized I had no more excuses and overcame my fear of failure. At the age of 31 life finally brought me back to my dream. I successfully completed my program and look forward to growing in this industry for many years to come.

I’m looking to find an apprenticeship or salon opportunity where I can grow individually as well as with a team. I love learning and would like a salon that focuses on staying up to date with education and trends. I am big on the application of knowledge as well. The execution of a technique or style is equally important to me. I would love to find a salon that is structured, where everyone has respect for one another, drama free and professional yet fun. I want to specialize in color but be well versed in all areas. I also learned to apply acrylic nails. The perfect salon for me would allow me to do both of these things without having to choose.
