About me
Hello, my name is Shekinah. I go by Shekinah Latrice, SL, or Kai. I'm 26 years old and am currently in cosmetology school. I have been braiding since 2018 so, this will be my 8th year as a braider. When I finish school I hope to extend my services in all things cosmetology. I am the oldest siblings to a younger brother. I have an angel dog named Halo and a new puppy named Stone, whom I like to believe Halo sent to comfort me after her passing. My favorite movie is the real version of 'Alice and Wonderland' and my favorite show is 'The Kardashians'. I love the fashion, makeup, hair and overall looks the cast and characters serve in both the movie and the show. I truly take interest in every part of cos. I now as a braider focus mostly doing all types of protective styling including braids and twist. I really enjoy doing designs and feel as though they keep braiding fresh for me while also constantly providing a challenge.

Why I'm here
I am here because I love being able to provide a safe space for individuals while assisting them in bringing out their best selves! I feel as though it's like have a little therapy session and feeling better, while simultaneously physically looking better. In my eyes it's definitely a double win for me and my clients! I enjoy the creativity the fact that it's a form of self expression not just for me, but also for my clients. This industry has so many levels combining makup, hair, and fashion to create art, bring people together and create a sense of empowerment is exactly why I identify highly with all things cosmetology!
