About me
My name is Shelby Ellis. I am cosmetology student at Aveda Institute Brandon. I am currently working at a beautiful salon as an assistant. I know and understand that hair does carry trauma wether it's physical, emotional, etc. I want to help people in the world to love their hair, and not be mad, upset, or frustrated that they have to deal with their hair. When clients come to my chair, crying about their hair and telling me what happened when they got it done, I feel just as upset for them that they didn't receive a worthwhile experience. I love making clients feel happy and confident when leaving the salon. I am also very eager to learn about my profession, and excited to learn different ways and techniques from colleagues, mentors and teachers .

WHY AM I HERE......
I am here because I wanted to do something with my life, and not be a nothing to a nobody. I want to be a somebody to a someone. Before I got here, I was not in a good place in my life. I was in a three-year abusive relationship with a man who just pushed everything he had on me, and blame me for his life. I had to make the difficult decision to leave him behind and starting my new life. I had to decide to be confident in my whole entirety, and to prove to myself that I am someone. To find and express who I am as a person, I have started my journey to becoming a professional hairstylist.
