I have been a hairstylist for over 20 years. During Covid, when salons shut down, I was devastated. I got a job working with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, and moved to a position in HR as a Staff Recruiter rather quickly, and although I am content in my current position, I miss the beauty industry immensely. Not working in a salon over the last three years almost feels as if I lost my identity. Being a hairstylist is who I am and who I identify as.
