About me
My name is Sophia Kucaba and I was born in Traverse City, MI. I then went on to spend 13 years in Florida. Now that I'm back in Northern Michigan, I've spent the last few years working in food service and catering weddings. Seeing how confident and beautiful the brides felt after the hairsylist got her hands in their hair was inspiring. I felt the draw to this industry seeing how much a hairstylist can impact a persons life, and I wanted to be a part of that. After spending over a year in school I've developed a love for color, blonding, and extension work.

Why I'm here
I grew up with older brothers and most of my time was spent around sports, video games, and anything and everything my brothers enjoyed. I started watching YouTube tutorials on different hairstyles and would spend hours practicing them on my mom. I then became the unspoken team hairstylist on my volleyball team. After moving back to Michigan, I started to explore the beauty world and instantly fell in love with it. From feeling like a tomboy to exploring feminity, I knew I wanted a career in beauty.
