You should love to serve and consult clients on hair styling options, describe the benefits of different hair care products, persuade clients to buy our retail products and stay updated on the latest hair trends and styling methods.
Ability to show off your people skills to attract and retain long term customers. This requires good interpersonal and conversational skills.
Hair Stylist Responsibilities:
Consult with clients on stylistic options for their hair.
Listen to clients' needs to determine their preferences.
Describe different hair care products and their benefits.
Shampoo, cut, color, highlight, scalp analysis and treatments, and other services as requested coloring and highlighting hair
Flexible Service Offerings of your interest and passion: manicure, pedicure, waxing, and skin treatment services.
Build a personal relationship with clients to ensure return visits.
Adhere to salon safety, sanitizing, and cleanliness standards.
Assist with Salon upkeep to ensure clients enter a clean, welcoming, and friendly environment
Hair Stylist Requirements:
A high school diploma or GED equivalent
Licensing from an accredited cosmetology school (Maryland 1500 hours)
Previous experience as a hair stylist or colorist (School experience counts-so we welcome you if newly licensed)
Proficiency with hot irons, curlers and heated dryers
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Good verbal communication.
Physical stamina.
Engage in all aspects of hair care, including cutting, styling, drying, shampooing, and coloring.
Communicate with customers throughout the appointment to ensure that they are having a pleasant and comfortable experience.
Maintain an effective work environment, making sure to clean it after every appointment, and to restock on hair care products as needed.
Schedule appointments, provide punctual service, and collect payment from customers at the end of each session.
Ensure that each customer's needs are met by staying up-to-date on the latest hair styling trends and products. license from an accredited program.
Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
Knowledge of current trends, styles, and hair care products. Creative mindset and a good eye for design.
