Assistant
An Assistant at Harper Ellis Salon is a professional, enthusiastic, and team-oriented individual committed to supporting their mentor stylist, serving salon clients, and contributing to the salon’s success. They provide an exceptional client experience, prepare stations and tools, assist with shampooing and styling, co-color and co-install extensions alongside their mentor stylist, maintain a clean and professional environment, support content creation, and prioritize their mentor stylist’s productivity and revenue.
The ideal candidate is coachable, dependable, organized, and committed to continuous growth. They communicate effectively, accept and apply feedback, take responsibility for mistakes, manage their time well, and proactively anticipate the needs of their mentor stylist. They follow all salon systems and standards, including booking protocols, Vish tracking, assistant metrics, sanitation, organization, and daily operational responsibilities. They contribute to a positive salon culture by demonstrating professionalism, building strong relationships, and fostering trust with clients and team members.
Throughout the Assistant Program, they will gain valuable technical knowledge, hands-on experience, business skills, and leadership development to prepare them for a successful stylist role at Harper Ellis Salon. This includes hands-on experience with co-coloring and co-installing extensions under the guidance of their mentor stylist. This position requires a current, valid cosmetology license, strong self-leadership, and the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
